About EI
Environmental Interiors was created in 1976. In the early years of the pre-Internet economy, EI built a reputation as the premier resource for office furniture solutions and design. As a Haworth Dealer, EI became a strong provider to many Clients for their cubicle needs. In 1999, the business was sold to Dale & Kathleen Schwan. Immediately, the business grew with the addition of new Clients, and a new presence in the State College, PA marketplace. In 2004, the business was greatly impacted by then Governor Rendell's effort to single-source State purchasing. Haworth's loss of their leadership contract status affected EI and caused EI to undergo a Business-reEngineering. A new, different approach to the marketplace was added – remanufactured cubicles. Excellent-quality used cubicles re-worked/resized/repainted at a lower price then new. And, it was, and still is "green"! It sure is – Reduce+Reuse+Recycle! This approach is still available for those Clients looking to stretch their budgets and be green. However, the better news can at the end of 2010 and started January 1, 2011!
In 2011, EI became the lead Dealer for Teknion for Central PA. Teknion is a great Company with a vast array of well-designed, well-priced products. EI and Teknion are eager to show the Central PA marketplace exciting solutions for their office spaces, including the premier architectural wall system in the industry!
